brand-up.com ripped off by iqrate.in

Some Bangalore company has applied their razor sharp talent in ripping off my site, which I conceived, designed and wrote in 2004. Shameful.

About Us… and apparently them.   Client Experience   Problems seem to be the same in India as here.

  • Although there are quite a few design differences it’s obvious with so many of their elements that they have tried to rip you outright. I think the lamest bit is how they’ve copied the fading image thing from your home page and (sort-of) the text and tried to replicate it as close as poss. without actually directly ripping your images or code themselves. Theirs looks extremely ameteur, there’s a few elements of the page they’ve stuffed up hugely… So yup they suck, not sure if it can be considered a direct rip as they’ve not ripped code or images etc but maybe it qualifies with the fact that it’s obvious they’ve tried to make theirs as close to yours as possible.

  • why on earth would you copy such a busted site to begin with? that’s like making a copy of my poop.

  • @why:

    What’s busted?

    Really?

Actually I would contend that ripping visual design and written content is far more indicative of a ripoff than recycling code. Especially as it relates to a professional services company, where our copywriting is explicitly ours and descriptive of our product. I suppose my biggest problem is that they simply did a find and replace on ALL our site copy, replacing our name with theirs.

  • They’ve even copied the about section!!!

They changed a couple of colours and the way that their email displays in the top right corner, that’s about it. Oh, and they made their company name bold… nice one!

  • Ripoff Artist

They might want to invest in your services. Their brand reads IRATE. Hilarious. They didn’t even copy your website well.

  • Its a rip because they stole the copy. Sue away.

  • @kristarella: Yeah, that’s the part that burns me the most… the copy. I *know* my design is tired and dated, but hey, it’s *my* tired and dated design.

  • Wow, finding these sites are hilarious. What’s even better is that they attempt to pass themselves as a design/branding company. “Hey, we’ll brand your company… exactly like another company…”
