The Bouncing Souls Rip off the Rolling Stones

YTWWN SAYS: I wouldn’t consider this a rip, it’s only 4 words from songs with similar names. Inspired possibly, but not a rip.
What do you think?

The rolling stones have a beautifully brilliant song called “Moonlight Mile” off the album Sticky Fingers from 1971. The Bouncing Souls have a song called “Midnight Mile” off a 2006 album. If you think the title is a rip wait until you hear the lyrics. I’m not sure if the Rolling Stones know about this. What’s funny is when my dad was in high school he handed in Moonlight Mile lyrics for a poetry assignment. (my dad isn’t in the bouncing souls by the way)

Rolling Stones:(

Oh Im sleeping under strange strange skies
Just another mad mad day on the road
My dreams is fading down the railway line
Im just about a moonlight mile down the road

Bouncing Souls:(

I’ve been dreaming under unfamiliar skies
and talking to strangers lossed in nights passed in disguise
why am i so long?
why can’t i say it all in song
we come up empty face to face
words i wish i could erase

we’ve been dreaming alone under different stars
of a thousand smiles
and of a thousand scars

And here is where the bouncing souls really steal..

Bouncing Souls:

I’m a midnight mile from your home
can I come in and warm my bones
I’m a midnight mile from your home
can I come in and warm my bones

Rolling Stones:

Made a rag pile of my shiny clothes
Gonna warm my bones
Gonna warm my bones

The Gorgeous Original (there is not official video obviousley but an Atonement fan made a nice little video):

Rolling Stones \”Moonlight Mile\” (not official video!)

And here is the bouncing souls not so awesome song:

Bouncing Souls \”Midnight Mile\”

At least they didn’t rip the melody!

    Google says:
Results 1 – 10 of about 848,000 for “warm my bones”
Results 1 – 10 of about 485,000 for “warm my bones” -lyrics -stones -souls.

I wasn’t really sure how to search for the first one, so this is my best shot:

Results 1 – 10 of about 281,000 for (“strange skies”|”unfamiliar skies”|”foreign skies”|”skies with which I am not personally acquainted”) -lyrics -stones -souls

Wow. There’s a LOT of people ripping the poor Stones off :D

I bet the souls will at least have the common decency to call it a day before they pass their prime, unlike the stones who have their tired corpse-like bodies wheeled onto the stage to the tune of $300 bucks a tickets. The Beatles accomplished twice as much in 1/6 of the time the stones were maing music!

besides agreeing with the general consensus of “what the fuck, are you serious?”. i’m gonna go with my first impulse and up the punks. i just gotta let it out.

so…i cannot help to believe that your intentions in writing the post were meant to be some sort of half-assed attempt in being a musicologist. i mean, did you really think we wouldn’t notice?

furthermore, if you were to look into the entire history of your precious Rolling Stones you’d see how they blatantly and ACTUALLY ripped off various blues artists. but i got a feeling you already know this. sometimes the truth hurts, wouldn’t you disagree?

and it’s just too god damn easy to know your profound illiteracy and myopic criticism affects other aspects of your life. because unless there’s not a direct correlation to your overly tainted and constrictive mental mode of reality then it must be a lie. but sometimes the truth feels real good, wouldn’t you agree?

back in the day, the stones shut down a carter usm song just for having the words “goodbye ruby tuesday” in it. this dick is just trying to stir up shit.

Who thought this was some sort of plagiarism? Seriously? That phrase was around before the Rolling Stones or the Bouncing Souls. Plus given the fact that the Bouncing Souls frequently write songs about touring, or being on the road, the inspiration should be obvious. Very minor similarities aside.

this has got to be the dumbest thing ive ever heard. seriously, why would the souls wait until almost 20 years into their career to start plagurizing other bands? and why would they rip off a band like the rolling stones?

and even better, there are no similarities between the songs accept for those four lines. what the fuck?

    You can’t copyright a name.

And frankly a few simular phrases NOT a rip.

haha no. you are a fucking moron. read the lines, you don’t even need to go between these ones, they written with a sharpie bigger than my house.

I think Coldplay wrote a few songs where they had some lines about bones, maybe we should bust them too.
