wethepeople vs. pellepelle

this was just posted on the website for a long running bmx company from germany called wethepeople. they have been using this logo for a few years now:
and here is a “new” design by clothing manufacturer pelle pelle:
here’s the information from wethepeople’s site
“So it seems that even famous fashion brands are into klaus’s designs… in fact so much so they decided it was ok to steal them.
Personally i think that is nothing associated with artistic license… that is a straight rip off of our design. If you can get anyone you know to email the distro with a short message, you can use this one if you like, just copy and paste the one i wrote below:

If you liked the original wethepeople logo that much you could have simply asked Klaus at wethepeople. He would have said no, but you could have at least asked him. This design is a direct one-for-one copy of a logo not designed by Pelle Pelle.

i’m really getting tired of these c****

these ones are always funny to me…how not only do they rip off the art and make zero attempt to disguise the rip via modification, but somehow manage to make it as ugly as possible. you’d think with an ounce of design sense they’d at least think of ways to improve it. oh wait, they can’t…they have zero talent to begin with.
why would they even think that they could get away with ripping off wethepeople? pellepelle is crazy even for trying…..im an australian and here we call it THEFT

Where is the Fremont stuff?
I can understand why Klaus would be annoyed, but to be fair Klaus. Look at the design, it’s horrific, you wouldn’t need to worry about these guys making much money from this design.
