Great work to everyone here!
I read your last two posts with interest.
I never imagined this design was a rip as Team Nihilist have been selling both girls and guys tshirts with this design in their Perth shops, for the last year and a half.

At least Lee atempted to change the design somewhat!
Looks like Team Nihilist thought taking away the lapel flowers would be enough.
Isnt it strange that they dont advertise this on the Team Nihilist website, whereas their shops are full of this style!

wow, these guys are relentless. thats just outright bootlegging. but with a name like “team nihilist”… what do you expect.
the threadless-design is not even the original one … i saw this design already years before it came out on threadless (don’t know if threadless even existed at that time) .. i saw it in south-germany but can’t tell who did it and it had a guy blowing another guy the head off with a gun and all the butterflies coming out…. also i think the girl is a very low-level illustration and its crazy that nobody gets the different style between the girl and the butterflies… its obvious …. besides that there are lot of designs that tell the head-blowing-story… for example look at the new shirts von native instruments:

Threadless need to be more ass-kickingly protective of their stuffs, as it is not really ‘theirs’ so to speak.
That painting is good. Not I-would-own-one good, but nice to look at if you saw it in a gallery. We need more of this kind of ripping, where the biter makes it look hella better, and the original artist is forced to either embrace the new, superior, version of their work, or look like an under-talented fool

If you read the last comment on this page, you’ll see the artist admits the painting was inspired by the threadless design. A few pages later there’s a comment from the guy who did the threadless shirt.

It is also featured on some album artwork by Before Braille. I asked dave about it once, and he said it was from some European artist that have given permission to use it. the colorado/german band The Instrumental Guitar Massacre also uses the artowrk.

I bought a North Dragon tshirt off eBay with this image on; white tee, red butterflies, black for the girl – it has a continuation over the shoulder onto the back into a “North Dragon” butterflies > bloodsplat. Now am confused, is this *another* ripoff
ive seen this shirt in perth shop also, but on a label called tuff kuntz or something like that.
there is now another version being sold in HMV stores in the UK that swaps out the girl for a guy in a Reservoir Dogs style suit. Everything else is the same.
I have seen a t-shirt where a girl throws up butterflies.
It’s a bit similar to this one…
