This is a personal issue,
as my web-portfolio www.b2302.de got completely ripped off by http://www.carolinaangarola.com.ar,
as you can see also the comments in the source-code are the same.
I just wanted to let everyone know that it is my original idea and artwork, and the argentinean version ist just a bad copy.
original:

copy:

as i contacted her via email, i am looking forward to get things sorted.

Now this is nothing more than a blatant ripoff if you ask me. We design, manufacture and distribute our own jewellery label Made by White it is VERY handmade and VERY original and based in Sydney, Australia. We have been selling this ORIGINAL design for about 2 years now and now Topshop have decided they can just take the design and sell it as their own? Very upset about this, they target people who are too small to fight back. Shame on you Topshop.
Here is our original (and the original drawing too)

And here is their copy. She looks like she has been punched but other than that it’s pretty much the same?

In the UK this advert from Weight Watchers is doing the new year rounds. The TV ad and digital campaign both feature brightly coloured characters that look very closely inspired from a French student project “Reulf”. The TV spot involves the characters following and interacting with people in different aspects of their day which is very similar to the short films content.
Weight Watchers
Here is a link to the TV Ad (no embeddable version available)
Here’s a sample of their online ads (more can be seen on www.weightwatchers.co.uk):

Here’s a link to the video hosted on vimeo.com:

The characters are shaped differently but the colours, movement and interaction are all very similar. If you colour pick the torquoise and the gold/orange character their values are too close for coincidence.

it would seem that Lisa Rienermann’s very distinct photogaphy-meets-typopgraphy work Type The Sky (above) is an endless source of “inspiration” for advertising “creatives”. After Mercedes-Benz and Renault (see here), it’s the CHE Agency from Melbourne, Australia, that do the exact same thing for A+ Architecture (below). It wouldn’t be so sad, really, if they hadn’t focused their campaign on inspiration…

Surely you would know you cannot just go and use something like the NASA logo as your own. I mean who would be stupid enough to do that? The serial copy king Simon Pithie from Bud ofcourse.

So a while back I commissioned Monaux to do a design for my label Skeg. I got it printed a while back through Storenvy along with the rest of my line however I have a slight problem. You see when I sent the files over to the printer I received word from Storenvy that they had printed this design already with different a text (a clear rip). The only information I have is his mailing address and email.
I’ve contacted Monaux and he is unsure as to what to do as it’s quite difficult and costly to take someone to court over something like this. I already got my design printed as I still really wanted to print it, but what should I do about the guy who already printed 50 of his ripped design.
Below is the Skeg design and the rip.

Top Man UK just released a sweatshirt featuring a startlingly similar graphic to California apparel brand CRAP Eyewear’s popular “Tee Rex” shirt. CRAP first released the shirt in 2007.

** Update: The following post was written by artist John Colingswood aka DBNI Industries on Dec 10th and alleges that his photographic work was ripped off by design studio TAK! and photographer Chris Keenan in the logo for the British Dance Edition 2010. The statement made by John Colingswood has since been proven to be false. See comments below post for more info

As pointed out on Coco Perez and the Too Many Tights blog.
Independent fashion label Black Milk releases a design for a pair of leggings called Sheer Spartans in September 09 (image on the right):

Lindsay Lohan’s label 6126 releases a drawing featuring suspiciously similar leggings for their upcoming collection (image on the left).
You thought people wouldn’t notice? They did.
