Not the newest story, but one I always enjoyed. Now before you jump down my throat, I have done my research. Sony owns the rights to both Spidey, and PS3, so their not ripping off anyone but themselves here. In fact, in an interview, Teiyu Goto, the designer behind the new font, was actually told by Mr. President Ken Kutaragi to use the same font.
“If you really look at the PS3 contour carefully, it is rounded when viewing the console in profile. Rather than creating a typography with all the risks that entails, it was wiser to use the one from Spider-Man, for which Sony has the rights.
“It was also the wish of President Kutaragi, who insisted that I use this typography. In fact, the logo was one of the first elements he decided on and the logo may have been the motivating force behind the shape of PS3.”
.
Just a lame unoriginal in the end. You’d think the president would want something different, as opposed to everyone associating the PS3 logo with spiderman. Whatever floats your boat Ken.

From here.
“Its hard to think that people at Passion Pictures did not have this early panoramic of ours in mind when they created this new spot for the SONY Bravia line.
To add insult to injury, someone from Passion Pictures contacted us about a year ago asking to see samples of our work (including this panoramic) as they were interested in working with us. We sent them samples and then heard nothing from them ever again.”

As seen on PSPFanboy.com:

“Last night, while channel surfing, I came across “The Tonight Show.” The title screen shown just before “The Tonight Show” went to commercials had the infamous PSP graffiti that Sony used to advertise the system some time ago. I’m not sure if this occurrence was just by chance and “The Tonight Show” just liked the image, or if this is subliminal advertising set up by Sony. While I have no proof either way, my instincts lean towards it being planned by Sony. After all, I doubt they got their money’s worth on these graffiti ads originally.”
