Oh well, i guess some people have no real motivation to do anything on their own.
The famous stealing work from the unknown
In the Australian dance world, David Atkins is one of the biggest names there is. He was the artistic director of the Sydney 2000 Olympic opening and closing ceremonies and he was awarded an OAM and won an Olympic Gold Pin for his efforts. However it was his earlier work in musicals that originally had me captivated and then heartbroken when I found out that much of his choreography was stolen from some of the greatest tap dancers of all time. It is not unusual for tap dancers to celebrate the work of the greats but after seeing the show live twice and then watching it countless times on video I was still of the opinion that Atkins had choreographed this sequence. This is not an isolated incident for Atkins and I am in the process of compiling other instances for future posts.
