ripoff, or homage? i realize the distinction isn’t very clear when talking about imitation, but hey, i doubt r.e.m. would mind much that their imitation of life video is being imitated for an olympics coverage promo.
in any case, i have no sympathy for those televisa asshats. not only is their sports coverage terrible, their commentators are chronically ignorant, and in general they’ve been a rancid, dinosaurine monopoly for far too long now.
still, this is, to me, a (an?) homage. “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, right?
