Jme Messina Rips Artwork to Impress Girls

What's more pathetic than someone who does a bad Photoshop job on great work and claims it as their own? Why, someone who does a bad Photoshop job after girls he knows who get all wet over his amazing artistic abilities, of course! Below are three rips from a popular Deviantartist known as Steven Sanchez.

Stolen from Steven Sanchez

Jme Messina has a group on Facebook called 116 where he posts all of this work, and there really is so much more there. Here are only some of the comments he gets for these completely awful photoshop jobs:

"Amazing Jme! You re-create the woman's form amazingly :) Your subject is very attractive!"
"hoLEE I am SO much hotter when you draw me!! hahah hahaha Jme, you are a master. I adore you like you don't even know! I owe you a coffee (or my first born!)"
"WOW!! JME that is wicked!! what would it take for u to do me??"
"You're so deliciously talented it hurts my heart..."
"Hot Damn boy, you're getting good!!! Sign my t-shirt!!! hahhha, awesom job jme!!"
"Ugh Jme, you are so amazing it HURTS me. Help me think of ways to exploit your talents!!!"

Sadly, no talent will be exploited, because he has none. He advertises that he can do CD layouts, logos, shirt designs, posters, business cards and tattoo designs, using this fake work for his portfolio to create an income. It's sad that his admirers are even denser than he is, they will be very disappointed. He also has the Worst Website in the World.

Below is some more work, obviously stolen, that some of you might recognize:
Unknown Stolen Work

Thanks for reading, I hope you're all laughing as hard as I am.

  1. The piece with the brunette on the couch is actually the cover to Amazing Spider-Man #601 by J. Scott Campbell

    http://marvel.com/comic_books/issue/24408/amazing_spider-man_1999_601

  2. hurray, a new rob granito!

and this does not at all make it right, but: wow, those are some pretty terrible pictures to begin with. what is -UP- with the butt on the first one?

  3. People want to be artists SO bad they’d stoop to getting the praise knowing they didn’t actually DO the shit themselves just so they can FEEL as if they were legit?

  4. I agree with the first one; have no fucking idea what you’re talking about in the second picture (sexy illustrated princess leia???)

  5. The last pic comes from from the cover of “Fathom Vol 3″ by J. Scott Campbell : http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=28771

  6. well actually I know him and he just does these as gifts for his friends , and the original stuff he sells he gives the money to the spca to help animals , if you read the comments he never claimed to draw them he does graphic design! , do your homework before you try to slam someone for trying to do something nice , god its jerks like you that make this world a bad place , and to take the time to make this page makes you even sadder

  7. wow …. ok what the fuck is your problem ? and just who the fuck are you ? takes a big man to talk shit with no names doesnt it ? you dont know shit about me and tiff is right those were just gifts to try and make MY FRIENDS smile (they even say merry xmas and happy bday on them jackass) but apparently thats not cool anymore? if you read the description on my page you would have also read “photo manipulation” which is all those were , Ive been drawing since I was a fuckin kid so all the stuff I say is mine is mine! ask anyone who actually fucking knows me , but I guess its cool to just try and take someone down a notch instead of trying to help them up these days!? , anyways ive wasted enough of my time on a worthless piece of shit like you so if you grow a set and actually want to talk to me like a fucking man I guess since you know all about me youll know how to get a hold of me , cant waaait to fuckin hear from you

  8. I don’t know who you are, but it doesn’t really matter to be honest. This is somebody looking in without any bias. I think the whole point of this person’s post wasn’t to highlight your “good intentions” but to show your blatant disregard to the original artists. You say that they were just photo manips, but you removed artist signatures, gave them no credit, and allowed tons of people to praise you for your drawing skills. Before lots of your stuff was removed, you gladly took all the complements of your drawing (not design) skills without mentioning that little oversight of the work not actually being yours. Nobody’s buying your “good intentions” especially when you are using these pieces to promote real business.

  9. While I I’m with Billy on this one. Once you publish anything, which is what you do by putting any artwork on the internet, you need at least to pay credit to the original artists. If you don’t, you’ll be subject to their rightful anger, no matter how well you meant it. You can rant all you like, jme, you’re wrong and you should know. Furthermore: just gifts to make your friends smile, huh! I guess it’s just a coincidence that all the friends in question happen to be attractive young girls. Duh! What am I thinking?

  10. You sound like you take criticism like a man, jme.

  11. awww…his site is already down….i was looking forward to a good giggle.

  12. please dont listen to any of these people , I worked with jme and he was nothing but great ! he helped us out so much ! Now I ask you how can someone have “no talent” when we all sat down with him and he made our visions come to life right infront of our eyes ? do you know what a great feeling that was and now because of a negative and jealous person that is gone and if you were wondering his fee for the logo was to have us make a donation to the animal shelter and for the cd was nothing, plus he does all our gig posters for free! so if he was doing this for money he sure had a weird way of going about it and now we are going to have to shell out $100/hr for someone less qualified to do our stuff! thanks alot !!!

  13. omg , you guys lay off him , I am one of the girls in the pics and I saw it online and asked him if he could photoshop me into it , not for money or for fame or anything else just cause I thought it would look cool and he did it as a favor for me !!! I didn’t mean for him to get in any trouble , I think you guys need to lighten up I mean for pete’s sake’s he has a picture of his dog’s face on chewbacca on his page to but that doesnt mean he created star trek! its just a picture !!! , learn to take things as they are and stop being so darn negative !!!
love people , thats what it’s all about love !!! j dont worry about it , haters gonna hate just keep your head up and know you are loved by the people who really know you

  14. yo JME, been trying to comment on this site… wasn’t letting me. anyways, sounds like somebodys boyfriend got pissedd or something, heh? i heard on the “grapevine” that david’s little bro (from your facebook) was talking shit about this. maybe you should pay him a little visit, eh? or do you already know who it was?

  15. dude you got balls i’ll give you that , he’s crazy and you made this page calling his friends dense, you’re not the smartest knife in the drawer are ya ?!

  16. sorry but it just angers me when someone bashes someone without knowing them , this is really irritating me and I dont like the fact that my pic is on a page talking bad about my friend

  17. dont get me wrong j is a great guy but the first girl is his sister so not only did you insult his friends but his family too ….. bad move david’s lil bro, bad move.

  18. J its obvious this guy is just petty and so jealous of you and the fact that he says you have no photoshop talent just shows how little intelligence he really has , youre amazing in every way !!! <3 the east coast

  19. Wow. I’m embarrassed by all these comments supporting Jme. Just because he was being “nice” and doing stuff as a favor/gift…doesn’t mean it’s not STEALING another artist’s work. Unless you paid the original artists a royalty or asked permission, it’s ILLEGAL to use their work. They can sue you.

Saying “Oh, but I was just doing it for charity/a friend/free” won’t protect you in court. You’re in the wrong here, Jme.

  20. Taking credit for what’s not one’s own isn’t justified by the cause. What I don’t understand is: jme obviously has some talent in drawing. Wouldn’t it be far more rewarding to develop the latter and take some justified credit for one’s work? As I told before: putting something on the net is publishing and that’s where rules apply as far as ownership is concerned. If you want to ignore these rules, fair enough: see that the work is kept private and nobody will come and bother you. Otherwise: respect some rules and everything will be fine. Period.

  21. I don’t know either of the parties involved here but does it not seem odd that under the categories of stuff he says to do ‘self portraits’ is no where to be seen ?
Take it from me Jme I went through the same thing when some jock didn’t like me photo shopping pics of his girlfriend , it just doesn’t pay to try and be nice these days but I guess we all have to learn that the hard way , lucky for you it seems like your friends are as beautiful on the inside as they are outside , oh and remember the path to hell is paved with good intentions ;)

  22. well said headsign ! this whole thing just sounds like a episode of melrose place , he screwed my gf so I made a blog , pathetic!, the guy who wrote it clearly won as the other guys sites got shut down so good on you but why is this still up? if he cared so much about the art community why hasn’t he moved on to the next one? I’m a member on deviant art and there are a million guys on there doing alot worse stuff with art than in this instance.

  23. The ’116′ Facebook page a page for his business, advertising art and design services with ripped artwork.

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:SZmqQSBmgb0J:www.facebook.com/group.php

That’s not “for shits and giggles”. That’s “passing off”.

    (Thanks, Google cache.)

  24. @angry band
Instead of praising this guy, you better check if there aren’t any stolen pics in the artwork he designed for you. You might have a lawsuit coming, and I wonder how much praise you’ll give then to Mr Holy Animal Shelter.

Seriously all you friends of jme who ran here to post, read up on copyright infringement.

  25. obviously we’re all just jealous of JME’s l33t skills guys. c’mon.

  26. I see you failed to mention the ripped artwork on your online PORTFOLIO jme. We’re not talking just about the crappy photoshop hack and slash work on facebook. You had STOLEN photos AND designs on your portfolio.. This is what happens when a douchebag downloads photoshop .. sigh.

  27. YOu know I am an artist..You mess with my art and ya know you could have some serious problems..

You want a piece to ” Be creative with to benefit charity” We could talk..but to blatantly Rip Off another artist’s Work..without credit to the artist ( and of course even if you gave credit without permission it would still be a Rip off)

I am seething. You are mad..? ha I could Swear like an effin Truck driver if you want..but I have class and talent to back it..

  28. Wow, what a huge amount of ass kissing. Gross.

I don’t care who you are Jme, you can’t claim your a artist if you are ripping others work. You may be doing it for fun or for charity, but keep in mind they can get in trouble too for using your ripped work. Thats not a very bright idea. Not only that, you give no credit to your sources or to the original artists. Like wow broski, are you for serious? Instead of being angry at the people for being caught you should be angry at yourself. Your cheating yourself out of the experience of learning how to do your own work. Your also showing others that you don’t care if you steal others work. So instead of sending your sheep, why not you relax and reflect on what you want to do with yourself. Because no one is going to take you seriously if they just see copied work.

  29. there’s no ass-kissing here, all of the support posts are the same person. it’s pretty difficult to believe that that many different people randomly put a space both before -and- after their punctuation. though i guess it’s easy to forget little details like that when you can’t even manage to manipulate your pictures to a point where they aren’t total and complete rip-offs.

  30. I can’t believe all the white knighting and “you’re just JEALOUS!!!!” bullshit going on here. Yes, we’re all so jealous of this dude’s lack of artistic integrity and inability to draw completely on his own. That’s very, very enviable. How dare we “bash” him for swiping other peoples’ work and sticking it in his portfolio.

The ass-kissing going on here is absolutely juvenile and I hope none of these people are older than 16.

  31. @spadooky Genuinely can’t believe it took this long for someone to point out that all the ‘fans’ are the same person. Nice try JME.

  32. As a professional designer I gotta say that I would be pretty pissed off if someone took my work, did a “photo manipulation” of it and then never gave me any credit for it. You got what was coming to you jme.

  33. Bwahahaha! Holy crap the amount of sock puppet accounts this guy has made up are AMAZING. All the same wording. All the same space-punctuation-space thing going on. All the same ‘Aw geez leave him alone guys!!’-b.s. Rob Granito Jr much?

  34. Could have sworn that last one of the girl in the red liquid was ripped from a really old issue of Ultimate X-Men.

  35. HAHAA! spadooky is a genius.

I always thought the comment from ‘angry band’ was strange when they said :”and now we are going to have to shell out $100/hr for someone less qualified to do our stuff!” .. why would they have to change designers if they loved this guy so much?

.. but re-reading it as written from JME’s perspective makes it hilarious and wonderfully pathetic all at the same time.

  36. The most pathetic thing is that the guy is 35 years old and doing this shit to impress girls on Facebook.

  37. I noticed it was the same person right away also. He ran and deleted his shit so that none of his precious skankers would find out about what a fraud he is. Then ran back here pretending to be them in support of himself. High quality lulz right there. I highly doubt a single dollar he’s made (if he’s even made any) was donated to any charity. That was a scam to get people to feel sorry for him. He’s obviously mental and has daddy/mommy issues or something causing his bad behavior and lack of morals. Possibly a psychopath, I dunno lol.

  38. The people commenting on here to defend Jme are definitely idiots and the epitome of people completely out of the loop about anything related to the arts. There are way too many people who think art is a commodity that deserves no recognition, no pay, and can take 2 minutes to produce. The thread of people defending Jme serves as a GIGANTIC insult against any and every professional artist and designer out there. As for that band that used to use Jme’s “artwork” and now has to “shell out $100/hr for someone less qualified to do our stuff”…first of all, no. You can EASILY find anyone 100x more qualified, that actually does work that isn’t stolen, and you can sleep easy at night knowing that you’ll never be approached with copyright infringement claims over your band artwork. Why would you want that hanging over your head? This was going to happen inevitably, and it’s better that it happened now. These dumbasses who say that the poster must be pathetic for “making this page” all sound like 13 year old girls who a, don’t understand the concept of a site dedicated to artistic plagiarism, and b, have a complete and total lack of appreciation and respect for art and the hard work, concept, and talent it takes to produce it. Stop denying it. You ARE wrong, and there is no way around that. This is a cause that artists and designers constantly fight, and we won’t stop defending ourselves and each other. Period.

  39. @ A

I think you missed a few comments in this thread. ALL of the ‘people’ supporting JME, were actually JME himself. Read spadooky’s post above.. then re-read all of the ‘support’ posts’.. and get ready to laugh your ass off.

I wish there was a ‘bump’ feature on this blog. This definitely needs to remain at the top of the heap for all to see.

  40. The best and saddest part is all the comments supporting JME are the same person posting. Same words, all of them have the same unnecessarily spaced punctuation. Seriously dude, you’re not supposed to put a space before a comma, only after. It’s a dead giveaway all the comments are from you. Also try using some capital letters somewhere. Surely with all the girls you’ve impressed tracing, some of them would actually have come to stand up for you? Looks like you’ve failed in more ways than one.

  42. What’s even sadder is he lives in a girls basement at 35 years old no less.Haha.What a tool

  43. Schizophrenic or douchebag, you decide.

  44. Schizophrenic for sure. Rae Larocque and Jaime Messina are both nutters.

  45. It doesn’t matter what J’s motives are, he took someone’s hard work and manipulated it for his own entertainment. Receiving accolades from friends for work he didn’t do is like getting paid for a job you never showed up to. When you write a paper, you have to cite where your material came from, same principal should be applied here. Tell the little girls you didn’t draw these, just used your shoddy photoshop skills. I also doubt the fact that “all proceeds go to the ASPCA”. He’s probably got a new Xbox or something.

  46. I have been surfing on-line more than 3 hours nowadays, but I by no means found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth sufficient for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will probably be much more helpful than ever before.

  47. The moment I saw the deviantart link I knew exactly how this comment section would pan out. Stay classy DA users.
