Are you serious? Gothic text with lightning bolts? Like that’s never been done before.
Take a look at any metal album cover from the 70s/80s.

you post this like he didn’t make a career out of jacked work

seriously while i don’t know who the f king strike is, obey basically lives off of rips
March 4th, 2011 - 17:34
yeahhhh… kinda.. i guess. not a huge rip, though.

Check the ‘e’ , they’re identical.
March 7th, 2011 - 21:54
OMG you’re right .. they used the same font pfff this is weak
March 9th, 2011 - 20:15
@cc, The guy this is ripped from specialises in lettering. I don’t think this is a font.
March 10th, 2011 - 19:28
No, it’s not a font. Also, Shepard Fairey has a pretty extensive history of ripping people off. So, can’t say that I’m too surprised by this one.

If you actually look at the only letter that’s common between the two (the “e”), and compare closely… it has different enough proportions that it’s obvious that they were both working off of a generic gothic font.

@Phantom Trollboth. Can’t say I agree with that. The two “e”s look the same to me, and if one predates the other, which it does, your logic that they were both doing the same thing doesn’t really make sense. If you know of a “generic gothic font” that is like this, please let us know its name.

OMG THEY USED THE SAME E.
Seriously? Are we gonna scream “rip” every time two designers use circles? or arrows? Or Helvetica?

what the fuck did you just say with your mouth?

Are some of you people mentally handicapped in some way? Is it a vision problem?
Not even considering the “e” for a moment.
Can you not compare the lightning bolt at the top of the “b” and at the top of the “k” and see that they are literally the same in every angle and dimension? Every angle and width is the same on this lettering, it is IDENTICAL!
Sometimes I worry about the people who post on this site.
